FROM YOU EDITOR

March is here. The month of winds. Remember the March winds brings April Showers? I haven’t seen much of that yet. Although, as I write this there is a nice breeze outside.
A lot of our members will be going home soon. Guess they can’t stand the heat!! Those of us who “suffer” through the summer will miss you. But with this “newfangled” e-mail, we can still stay in touch!
The speaker for February was very interesting. It was Roman Kuprik of PC Computing. He talked about many subjects, including the different kinds of CD’s that are on the market and how to tell which are the best to buy.
The April meeting will be AiSquared, Vision Assisted Software and Equipment.
CLASSES
Mary Ellen has certainly been on the ball to keep everyone informed about classes, open times, etc.
However, there are no classes scheduled until we get some volunteers to teach them! Do any of you have a special program that you could teach? Why don’t you let Sid Gluck know at yoyosid@cox.net. And he will set you up with a class schedule.
Or if you can teach a class on how to run your computer, how to do maintenance, how to do just about anything, please come and show us.
We would love to have you help.

GENEALOGY DISCUSSION GROUP

The group had a very eventful meeting this past month. The instructors from the Family History Library led us on a tour of the facilities. The guide showed us where and how to search for our families and their history. There is so much information there! It was very informative and everyone enjoyed it. Some even found some things they had been looking for!
The group will continue meeting throughout the summer months, the second and fourth Fridays at 2:00 p.m. in the Craft Room. For April that will be April 10th and April 24th.There is no charge for these meetings and everyone is welcome.
JUST FOR FUN
Things I have learned: I’ve learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas light.
I’ve learned that making a “living is not the same things as making a “life”.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION
The following is an article that was sent to me that I thought might be of interest to you.
Do you know the difference between http:// and https://??
The main difference between http:// and https:// is It's all about keeping you secure**
HTTP stands for HyperText Transport Protocol,
which is just a fancy way of saying it's a protocol (a language, in a manner of speaking) for information to be passed back and forth between web servers and clients.
The important thing is the letter S which makes the difference between HTTP and HTTPS.
The S (big surprise) stands for "Secure".
If you visit a web site or web page, and look at the address in the web browser, it will likely begin with the following: http://.
This means that the web site is talking to your browser using the regular 'unsecured' language. In other words, it is possible for someone to "eavesdrop" on your computer's conversation with the website. If you fill out a form on the website, someone might see the information you send to that site.
This is why you never ever enter your credit card number in an http website!
But if the web address begins with https://, that basically means your computer is talking to the web site in a secure code that no one can eavesdrop on.
You understand why this is so important, right?
If a website ever asks you to enter your credit card information, you should automatically look to see if the web address begins with https://.
If it doesn't, there's no way you're going to enter sensitive information like a credit card number.
JUST FOR FUN AGAIN!
My Mother: Taught me to APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE. “If you’re going to kill each other do it outside, I just finished cleaning .”
My Mother: Taught me RELIGION. “You better pray that will come out of the carpet”
My Mother; Taught me about TIME TRAVEL.
“If you don’t straighten up, I’m gong to knock you into the middle of next week!”
My Mother: taught me LOGIC. “Because I said so, that’s why”
My Mother: Taught me MORE LOGIC. “if you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you’re not going to the store with me.”
